Frequently Asked Questions

What size gym water bottle should I buy?

Enough for one session is around half a litre. Enough for a session plus the rest of the day is closer to a litre. Check the bottle pocket on your gym bag first, because that is what usually decides it rather than capacity.

Stanley 1913 Gym & Fitness Essentials

Three things go in a gym bag and all three get treated badly. Water that has to be cold at the end of a session, not just the start. Food that still has to be edible two hours later. And a bag that has to hold both without one leaking into the other.

Everything here is built for that, in the insulated stainless steel Stanley 1913 has made since 1913.

The Gym Water Bottle

A gym water bottle has one job that a normal bottle does not: it sits in a warm room for an hour and then has to still be cold.

Double-wall vacuum stainless steel does that. Water stays cold through the whole session instead of turning lukewarm halfway. Steel also does not take on a plastic taste, which is the real reason most people stop using a bottle they bought.

Measure the side pocket on your bag before you choose a size. That is what decides which bottle works, more than capacity does. Straw lids let you drink without unscrewing a cap, and a wide opening lets you drop ice in.

The Gym Shaker

If you use powder, the gym shaker is the product built for it. It is insulated, it is leakproof, and the base detaches so the powder stays dry until you want it. A warm shake is the usual reason people stop bothering, and insulation is what removes that.

That is the difference between an insulated shaker and the plastic one most gym bags contain.

A Sport Cup for Between Sets

A sport cup with a straw lid is the simplest way to drink while you train. You do not unscrew anything and you do not stop. For the same lid on a bottle rather than a cup, see bottles with straw lids.

Gym Bags and Carrying It

Backpacks, tote bags and crossbody bags designed with a bottle in mind. The bottle sits upright in its own pocket, away from your clothes, which is the difference between arriving dry and arriving wet.

Food as Well as Water

Insulated food containers and bowls for food you cooked earlier. Insulation works in both directions, so a hot meal is hot when you finish and a cold one has not warmed up.

Built for Life, Built to Last

Nothing you own gets used harder or more often than gym equipment. Plastic responds by splitting at the seam, staining, and holding a smell you cannot wash out. Steel does none of those three.

And the components that wear fastest are the ones you can simply buy again. Straws, boots and covers are stocked on their own and sized by capacity, so a worn straw costs you a straw.
