Nothing. They are two names for the same object, and you will see both used here and elsewhere. Vacuum bottle describes what it is; vacuum flask is the more common phrasing in British English. Everything in this collection is both.

Because a thermos is a brand, not a type of product. THERMOS is a registered trade mark belonging to another company. Across Europe the word gets used loosely, as though it named a type of product rather than a maker. Loose speech is one thing; putting another company's brand name on our own products is another, because it would be misleading about who made them.
The technology has its own name, and it is vacuum insulation. A double wall of stainless steel with the air evacuated from the gap, leaving almost nothing behind to carry heat in either direction. That is what holds a drink hot for hours rather than minutes, and it is what William Stanley Jr made when he built the first all-steel vacuum bottle in 1913.
